Weather, time and space have effects on human structures. The long the building or structure sits, the longer wind, and rain has seeped into cracks, and frozen and expanded. In many cases this can be reversed, however it can take some planning and fore thought. In this example, the building had set on the ground in the dirt too long. The runners needed to be resupported to hold up the weight. I engineered a solution to resupport the beams and make the building more stable, and put another 10 years or more of life into it. The entire project would have cost around 250-300$, the client decided to use my blueprint and do the work themself. We would have had to lift and level the building, put in the supports and then level it again, it would have been a time consuming project for sure. A shed has some dry rot on the runners, my longer term repair idea is to put block supports and attach them to add surface that is level, sitting on vertical 2x6 planks & block.
